Jesus Coat of Arms

A coat of arms represents the identity, heritage, and values of an individual, family, club or nation. In battle, it was used to identify combatants fighting their family. As we fight for our Lord Jesus Christ, we carry his Coat of Arms into battle as proof of our pledge and dedication to him.

Pledge

I pledge allegiance to Jesus Christ, the Son of God, my Lord and Savior.
I will love Him with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.
I will follow Him daily, obeying His Word and living by His Truth.
I will use the sword and armor given to me to fight for His Kingdom.
I will proclaim His gospel to the Honor and Glory of God.

Why is Jesus the Coat, Dedication and The Gift Story are from the book, Jesus the Coat

Why is Jesus the COAT?

The dictionary definition of a coat is something you wear to keep you warm. It serves as a protection from the harsh worldly elements like a shield. Jesus is our protection and shield from the world’s evil powers and storms. There is also a Coat of Arms shield that is used to identify a family. We are part of Jesus’ family and His warriors at war with Satan. So we carry the Coat of Arms of Jesus to battle. Having said that, COAT is used here more as an acronym than as a word. Hence, in the biblical context, the term also has other important meanings for us to learn about who Jesus is and claim the victory He has won for us. What is this COAT? Is it Creator Of All Things? This COAT is worn by God only. But the other COATs we can wear and be like Jesus.

Dedication

I dedicate this book “Jesus The Coat” and Dudical Surf & Sports Club website to our youth, our future church and our future leaders. They need to know Jesus and follow Him by getting deeply rooted in God’s Word. I also dedicate this book to the servants at my church who I have the pleasure to serve with and other churches throughout the communities of our nation helping further God’s Kingdom. Included are Christian organizations like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) to which I serve with the coaches.

Lastly, I dedicate this book to parents of our children, who have the duty to raise them up in the Word of God, nurturing them in Jesus. We are all servants of Jesus at war against the evil forces of the world. We need good Christian men to mentor our young men to become good Christian men. We need good Christian women to mentor our young women to become good Christian women. Having faith that the good works we do for Jesus will create adults who are steadfast in their love and relationship with God.

The Gift Story

I want to share this short story I wrote last August, buried in my notes. I’m glad I found it to share, but mostly for me to remember my duty and promise to Jesus. As part of this duty and promise to Jesus, we are starting a Dudical Surf & Sports Club (DS&SC). Encouraging families and students to study the life and teachings of Jesus Christ together; becoming His Disciples, Stewards and Servants.

Jesus the Gift

Imagine one day you get a special gift from somebody. This eternal gift promises to bring you eternal life, love, joy, and peace. A treasure of so much worth, you can’t believe how blessed you are for this special gift, so active and alive. You open the gift, and there are instructions on how to build, learn, and maximize the gift’s potential. But you get impatient and tell yourself I can build this myself without the instructions. I just need to look at the picture of it and lean on my understanding, and that will be easier.

Since you did it on your own and didn’t read the instructions well to maximize the gift, it wasn’t built right. Then you get frustrated that the gift didn’t bring you the love, peace, and joy you thought it was meant for. Then you may think the gift doesn’t work and ignore it, don’t. No one can take this gift away, it’s for you who accepts or rejects it. This special gift is not as easy as you thought it was to build, be patient. You needed to really follow the instructions of the Creator of this gift. The instruction manual for this gift is the Word of God, the Holy Bible. God will make you see clearly to build it right, and trust Him.

This gift is so forgiving and patient, no matter how many times you try to build it on your own and mess up, you can still do it right with the instruction manual. How many times in life have you built something on your own, only to mess up because you didn’t do it right, follow instructions, or trust? Or it might be barely working, so you think it’s good enough, but it’s not. We all need help at times and should not be too afraid or too arrogant to ask.

This gift will keep on giving. You can keep giving this gift to others with no limits on how many people you can give this to, even if you didn’t build it right. You may give this gift to others, and they may build it right. Then they can help you build your gift the right way. This gift is so special that the more you give it away, the more blessings you get back, but it must be built right. It’s our duty to build it right for ourselves and help others build their gift right. Parents need to take time to help their children build this gift the right way, going over the instruction manual patiently, carefully, and lovingly.

Lean on the Word of God, listen to His instructions, and Jesus and the Holy Spirit will guide you. One of my favorite things about this gift is that it comes with a spiritual sword, God’s word. This is the ultimate weapon to fight in God’s Army, led by our Commander Jesus. I may not ride in Jesus’ Army from Heaven, but I can ride with His Army on earth. I’m committed to fighting for our youth and the lost sheep. Like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I will not shy away from the battle to help others win their war and overcome the world. Jesus already won the war and has shown us the way. Draw your swords and come join the battle.

The harvest is plenty, come help their plight.
I came to Texas to relax and retire, not fight.
But Jesus told me, this is for the truth and right.
Go share God’s Gift, Love, and Glorious Might.
